Hunter Orr

Hunter Orr was hired as BBP Director of Pitching in June of 2021. In addition to his facility role, Orr is entering his 3rd season as Head Coach of BBP 13u. Orr is a graduate of Pelham High School (2015) where he lettered 3 years under Sean Anderson. Hunter found baseball at an early age and developed a love for the game. After high school, Hunter accepted a scholarship from Marion Military institute where he excelled in the classroom, as well as on the mound. Under former MLB infielder and Marion Military Institute’s Head Coach Matt Downs, Hunter learned what it takes to be successful in the game of baseball.  After graduating with an Associates of Science from MMI, he transferred to Murray State in Murray, KY. Hunter received his Bachelors in Integrated Studies in 2020 with a Minor in Exercise Science.  Since leaving Murray State, Hunter has coached pitchers in private instruction, high school, and college level with positive results.  He coached with the American Legion (Post 555) for 2 years, was an assistant coach at Pelham High School, and was interim pitching coach at the JUCO level at Gordon State College in Barnesville, Ga. Hunter finds great satisfaction in teaching others to become better baseball players and he is excited to be a part of a the Birmingham Baseball Performance family.
